Warriors announce signing of Tom Savage

Tuesday 09 June 2026

Worcester Warriors are delighted to announce the arrival of experienced forward Tom Savage ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Tom returns to the UK after spending several seasons playing abroad, both in Japan and New Zealand.

His rugby journey started at Hartpury, before signing for Gloucester back in 2011 – a club he went on to make almost 200 appearances, as well as being named club captain for the 2013/14 season.

After departing Gloucester, Savage headed to Japan, where he spent four seasons in the Japanese Top League playing for Suntory Sungoliath.

From Japan, Tom headed to Super Rugby, where he’s spent the past three years playing for Moana Pasifika.

While in New Zealand, Tom also represented North Harbour in the country's National Provincial Championship, a side he captained last season.

On his move to Sixways, Tom said, "I’m really excited to be joining Worcester Warriors. The club has a rich history and an incredibly loyal fan base, which I’m looking forward to being a part of.

From the conversations I’ve had with Matt Everard, it’s clear there’s something special building here. I can’t wait to get stuck in, connect with the players and coaches, and contribute to a team that has already achieved so much this season.

It's also exciting to be returning to the UK after seven years playing overseas. I'm looking forward to experiencing the rugby culture here again and sharing that journey with my family."

Warriors Head Coach Matt Everard added, "I'm really excited by the signing of Tom Savage for next season.

As a person, Tom is someone who drives high performance and togetherness from his teammates.

As a player, Tom brings a huge amount of experience & leadership. Having made nearly 200 appearances for Gloucester and playing the last two seasons in Super Rugby, we are very excited to see Tom pull on a Worcester shirt.”
