Andy can be so Goode for us – Boss

Mike Ruddock has hailed the pedigree of star signing Andy Goode after the fly half agreed a deal to make a move to Worcester Warriors next season.

Goode, who is one of the most prolific scorers in English club rugby history, has penned a three-year deal to seal a Sixways switch.

And Ruddock is convinced the 29-year-old playmaker will have a big impact at the club as he returns to English rugby.

“I believe that Andy’s pedigree is without question and he has been one of English rugby’s top performers over the last decade with England, Leicester Tigers and most recently Brive,” said Ruddock.

“He helped guide Leicester to a succession of league titles and is one of the Guinness Premiership’s highest all-time point scorers. In his first season in France he also showed his skills, ability and quality to adapt to a different environment as he finished as the second highest point scorer.

“His standing and reputation in the game has been further enhanced by his recent move to Sharks and the Super 14. He is playing in their tour of Australia and New Zealand and this will only further develop his experience and benefit the Warriors long term.

“Andy brings with him a wealth of experience and is still only 29-years-old. He provides very strong leadership qualities and supreme goal kicking accuracy that can take us to the next level. He also fits the English qualified criteria that we are keen to establish even further at the Warriors.

“Andy always displays great composure and calm on the field and his great goal kicking temperament under pressure to win close games is a huge asset.”
