Warriors’ wing Duhan van der Merwe scored a late try but it was not enough to save Scotland from a 36-17 defeat by Grand Slam-chasing France in the Guinness Six Nations at Murrayfield.
Van der Merwe crossed for his first international try of the year after a break from Blair Kinghorn having scored for Warriors in last week’s Gallagher Premiership win against Bristol Bears at Sixways.
But France ran in six tries, evenly split between the halves, with Damian Penaud scoring twice after the break.
France’s win was their biggest at Murrayfield in 14 years.
