New arrival sparks ticket rush

New signing Greg Rawlinson has already had a big impact at Sixways with the Ticket Office reporting a huge surge in sales after the announcement that the giant New Zealand international is joining Warriors.

Supporters have been quick to show their unanimous support for Mike Ruddock’s arrival with season tickets and debentures for the 2007/08 season already selling at record levels.

And now the news that lock Rawlinson will join New Zealand counterpart Sam Tuitupou at Warriors next season has seen sales rocket yet again.

The Ticket Office sold over 400 renewals and brand new season ticket packages in just 48 hours and total sales have now smashed through the 2,500 barrier.

Existing season ticket holders now have just one week to take advantage of the ‘Loyal Warrior’ offer before the deadline for renewals.

Renewals that arrive before close of business on FRIDAY, JUNE 8 will take advantage of the special discounted rate and get guaranteed first refusal on their existing seat. Any received after close of business of this date will have to pay the full rate and may lose their current seat.

Warriors General Manager Charlie Little said: “Last season culminated in a fantastic win against Saracens in the last match and this clearly helped our season ticket drive. Those people that were fortunate to be at Sixways on that day won’t forget the atmosphere created by the 10,000 Warriors supporters.

“Since then we have brought in Mike Ruddock as Director of Rugby, a rugby coach with a fantastic pedigree and who has a proven track record at the very highest level. Coupled with this is his ability to recruit the very best players in the world and his desire to play open attacking rugby.

“Greg Rawlinson joining Sam Tuitupou, his All Blacks colleague, at Worcester Warriors is the start of this summer’s recruitment process. We plan to secure the signatures of a couple more internationals in the forthcoming weeks and I hope that we can also now secure the support of more season ticket holders.

“What we are building here at Sixways is unique across European Rugby. I would encourage anyone who wants to support our ambitious club with their commitment and support to look into our season ticket packages. There is something there for everyone and I really think that there is no better time to become a part of the Warriors family.”
