Sixways cycle ride a huge success

Warriors Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock helped a charity challenge get underway from Sixways Stadium as 16 riders took to the saddle to raise over £50,000 for special causes.

Lord Digby Jones, Minister of State for Trade and Investment, helped organise the charity challenge from Worcester Warriors to Leicester Tigers.

The event – dubbed “END2END – The Sequel: the saddle fights back!” – was held in aid of The Matt Hampson Trust, the registered charity SpecialEffect, which has Matt Hampson as its Patron, and The Dan James Trust.

The ride celebrated the 10th anniversary of Lord Digby’s epic bike journey from John O’Groats to Lands End, which he completed on 13 June, 1998.

Over £50,000.00 was raised by the ride, the evening dinner at the Tigers ground and also by a hugely successful breakfast at Sixways Stadium when the Event Patron, Lord Digby Jones chaired a Business Breakfast together with local MP Peter Luff, Mike Ruddock and Tigers and England star Martin Corry.
