Denton wins Warriors Player of the Month award

Denton named Warriors December Player of the Month

Flanker David Denton has picked up December’s Miller & Carter Player of the Month award.

The Scottish international was a busy man throughout the last month of 2017 and put in some monumental performances.

The giant back row featured in every game during December, playing in 380 of a possible 400 minutes of action.

And Denton showed what a threat he is with ball in hand as he crossed for powerful tries against Oyonnax at Sixways in a 35-14 win, and versus Saracens at the end of the year as Warriors became the first side in the league this season to score four tries against the European champions.

Denton picked up 29 per cent of the votes, pipping November winner Josh Adams, who picked up 27 per cent – but the Welsh winger did pick up the Aviva Premiership Player of the Month award for December.

Darren Barry also enjoyed a fine month as he impressed in all competitions, which saw him in third position with 18 per cent of the votes.

Chris Pennell (eight per cent) and Sam Lewis (six) were among the other most-voted players.

Denton picks up a £50 voucher to spend at Miller & Carter restaurant in Worcester after his impressive month.
