Nick Schonert injury update

Warriors tighthead prop Nick Schonert will be out of action for around three months with a torn medial ligament in his right knee.

Schonert suffered the injury in the second half of last week’s Premiership Rugby Cup match at Bath and the extent of the injury was confirmed following a visit to a specialist.

“Nick has got a grade two tear to a collateral medial ligament and he will be out for between two and three months, probably three months looking at it conservatively,” said Warriors Director of Rugby Alan Solomons.

“It’s a blow. It was a suspected grade two tear and that has now been confirmed. He is now in a brace.”

Centre Will Butler, who suffered an ankle injury at Bath, has also visited a specialist and will return next week for a further reassessment.
