Scott van Breda will return to Sixways on Monday with a Man of the Match Award having enjoyed a successful two-match loan spell with Isuzu Southern Kings in the Guinness Pro-14.
Van Breda rejoined his former province last week and made his debut as a second half replacememt in their defeat by Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun.
Van Breda had little opportunity to influence that match but it was a different story at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday where the utility back kicked 11 points in Southern Kings 16-14 win over Ospreys.
Van Breda played a pivotal role in Warriors’ European Challenge Cup win over Ospreys at the same ground in January and his efforts on Saturday helped the Port Elizabeth-based franchise secure a first ever away win in the Pro-14.
While Warriors were battling to victory over Harlequins in miserable weather at The Stoop, van Breda mastered similar conditions in Swansea to land three penalties – two in the first half – and convert centre Erich Cronje’s first half try.
Having impressed in the Premiership Rugby Cup matches against Leicester Tigers and Exeter Chiefs, van Breda joined Southern Kings on a short-term loan to play some competitive rugby before returning to Sixways ahead of Friday’s European Challenge Cup opener against Enisei-STM in Russia.
