Commercial Director

Job Purpose: To assist the business maintain a consistent trajectory of growth across various departments by identifying new commercial opportunities.

Department: Business Operations

Length of Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Main Duties:

  • Developing and implementing commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth
  • Conducting market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development etc.) covering various departments including but not limited to Food & Beverage, Commercial, Events.
  • Understanding the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are being met
  • Act to acquire new key customers and manage client relationships (new and existing)
  • Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (Food & Beverage, Commercial, Events etc.)
  • Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior directors/owners.
  • Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring

Requirements

  • Proven experience as commercial director or other relevant role
  • Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients
  • In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
  • Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset

Community Rugby Match Day Sales Administrator (Full Time)

Job Purpose:

  • To convert Community sales leads into actual sales.
  • To plan & organise festivals and events on matchdays to maximise Community revenue.
  • To ensure all Community matchday events comply with all the necessary regulations.
  • To ensure all the different departments are aware of the activities the Community Department has on each match and any other events they are running.
  • To provide a schedule for each match and event showing the Community activities and timings of each activity.

Job Description, Roles & Responsibilities

  • To act on leads provided by the Community team to generate the matchday/event sale.
  • To generate additional leads/sales through flyer distribution in the surrounding area’s schools and clubs backing this up with telesales.
  • To generate additional leads/sales by promoting our events through the various avenues i.e. email promotions.
  • To process group bookings and issue tickets for various games and events.
  • To be aware of any special matchday promotions and how they may impact on the Community Rugby Department group booking discounted rates.
  • To work with the marketing team, Community colleagues to design and distribute a matchday brochure at the start of each season.
  • To ensure local clubs are aware of the various matchday packages including the different festivals we run on a matchday.
  • To make sure the teams attending matchday activities with us have all the details in good time ensuring their day with us runs smoothly and is enjoyable.
  • To send out pitch plans and guidance notes to all teams playing on the stadium pitch during the half-time period.
  • To order any additional items which are needed to ensure that the festivals run smoothly, i.e. portable toilets.
  • To work within match day budgets.
  • To place purchase orders for any required equipment that is needed by the Community Rugby Team on match days.
  • To work with the Community Rugby Manager to provide a match day schedule and working rota.
  • To keep a record of all match day bookings and provide a report for the Community Rugby Manager comparing actual sales with targeted sales.
  • To attend the match day running order meetings and inform the other departments of what activities the Community Department have on at each specific match and to report back any relevant information.
  • To work with other internal departments to ensure the Community Rugby Team have everything they need to run their match day programmes i.e. player requests.
  • To work with the Worcester Rugby Club to book pitch space/changing rooms for the various festivals events.
  • To attend match days on a rota basis and to compile a match day working rota.
  • To assist with the setting up of equipment on match days to ensure all events are correctly branded and safe.
  • To take responsibility for planning and organising the Land Rover Premiership Cup. Ensuring we comply with all the regulations and contractual agreements with the various.

Qualifications, Education and Key Skills Requirements

  • Must be educated to a minimum of ‘GCSE’ standard. Preferably with at least five GCSEs at grade C or above.
  • A current clean driving license.
  • The successful candidate will need a RFU Enhanced DBS disclosure.
  • The successful candidate will have experience of planning/organising sport related events.
  • Personal circumstances must allow the candidate to work extended hours on occasion during times of peak activity including evenings and weekends.
  • Ideally the successful candidate should already have a good knowledge and understanding of the game and the way the Worcester Warriors operate. Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and volunteers from all parts of the organisation. Also with local partners, teachers, other coaches and club personnel, and be able to present a highly professional image when representing the Worcester Warriors.

IT Manager

To implement, monitor and maintain the computer systems and networks of the Company alongside researching and implementing technological strategic solutions consulting with users, management and vendors to assess computing needs and system requirements.

  • To work very closely with the business’s IT Support Company, as they manage the core infrastructure.
  • Installation at client level, hardware, software (including peripherals and such products as anti-virus programs, CRM programs, and other applications used by the business.
  • Resolve malware and virus issues within personal workstations on the local area network
  • To assist Dell and our IT Support Company with regards to the repair and maintenance of our Physical Servers and Infrastructure.
  • To troubleshoot both complex and routine client computer issues, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
  • Perform one-on-one computer coaching on technology when necessary for staff members
  • Configuration as necessary of the computer network
  • To ensure that backup and disaster recovery policies are adhered to and regularly tested.
  • To ensure such IT policies are used to comply with GDPR and to provide staff training to further cement this.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and technology and make recommendations that will help a company keep up with technology standards in the industry, seeking as much help from our IT Support Company
  • Adapt quickly to changing circumstances, new standards, and requests by company management
  • Act quickly in crisis situations so the company can resume normal operations as soon as possible
  • Communicate with individuals and guide them through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues

  • Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment engaging with a Certified Electrical Company.

Community Rugby Coach

Job Purpose:

  • To provide coaching and support to meet the strategic needs of The Worcester Warriors in and around the North Midlands and South Warwickshire.
  • To create ongoing sustainability in all areas of work with links into local rugby clubs and The Warriors Academy.
  • The scope of the role will be to focus upon the coaching of all ages in schools and clubs.

This will include:

  • Coaching male and female participants to play all forms of the game
  • To educate teachers and other community deliverers to continue to develop the work started in these age groups.
  • Delivery will be in schools with clubs at the centre of all programmes. There is also work with clubs and match days on the weekends and some evenings throughout the season.
  • Specific Work Programmes will be delivered in your area to support the local clubs and generate interest in the Worcester Warriors. These will be agreed with the Community Rugby Manager.
  • It is envisaged that the post holder will further develop their role as their own skills develop. They are expected to embark on a Continuous Professional Development programme of RFU and Sports Coach UK courses in technical Rugby Knowledge, Coaching Skills and Coach Developer & Tutoring Skills.

Job Description, roles and responsibilities:

  • To deliver high quality coaching sessions to people of all ages to fit in with the needs of rugby clubs and Worcester Warriors.
  • To visit and actively support local clubs (in particular the Club Coaching Coordinator) to help improve standards of coaching and delivery, in order to aid their player retention, development and club sustainability.
  • To prepare an annual work plan in conjunction with your line manager and report activity on a regular basis.
  • To establish, maintain, report and evaluate a comprehensive schedule of coaching and training.
  • To take a professional approach to the planning, preparation and organisation of coaching and training sessions.
  • To ensure the safety and welfare of all participants in coaching and training sessions.
  • To facilitate club /school links.
  • To talent ID and recommend players of ability and potential to the Warriors Academy department.
  • To ensure we have links with coaches/teachers that actively promote the Warriors and encourage their children to take part in Warrior match day events and Warrior camps etc.
  • The delivery of high quality, safe and enjoyable coaching and training sessions.
  • Complying with Worcester Warriors, Premiership Rugby and RFU policies and procedures as appropriate.
  • Maintaining high professional standards and the promotion of these standards in the community.
  • Monitoring of equipment and resources held and distributed through the Community Coaching team.
  • Reporting activity and output on a weekly basis.
  • Creating and maintaining a strong working relationship with the schools, clubs and partners within your area.
  • To actively promote all Warrior revenue generating areas and provide leads for the Community administration team that allow them to sell camps/match days etc.
  • To approach schools in the area and sell them the various programmes we offer.

Accounting Technician

Main purpose of job: Working to complete the monthly management accounts by undertaking financial tasks and liaising with budget holders. To also oversee the purchase ledger

Department: Finance

Position reports to:  Finance Manager

Length of contract: Permanent, Full Time

Main duties:

  • Supervising all aspects of the purchase ledger
  • Working some match days to aid cash collection process
  • Preparation of floats for match days
  • Posting the monthly journals for the income specific accounts and others as required by the Finance Manager
  • Reconciling the balance sheet accounts that you are responsible for each month in line with the control file timetable
  • Analysis of the draft management accounts
  • Assisting department heads in the Budget/Forecast process
  • Posting Banking Sheets to accounts
  • Reconciling credit card statements and posting to the accounts
  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • Management of Staff expenses
  • Preparing a revenue figure for the monthly stock take
  • Processing any queries during and post stock take
  • Producing profit and loss accounts for isolated events
  • Cover for Sales Ledger when required
  • Cover for Purchase Ledger when required
  • Administration of the purchase authorisation/absence software

Communications Executive

Reporting to: Communications Manager

The Role:

  • Provide support to the Club’s Communications Manager and Head of Marketing & Communications across all areas of the business, both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with producing the Club’s PR and Communications for Rugby, Community and the Foundation as requested, and a particular focus on Worcester Warriors Women, the U18s and Commercial (including partnerships, ticketing, hospitality, retail, conferencing and events)
  • Assist with creating content for the matchday programme and e-newsletters
  • Assist with press conferences
  • Provide media support at other events such as Meet the Players/Coaches
  • Media liaison lead in the absence of the Communications Manager
  • Deal with media enquiries as and when required
  • Work with the Communications Manager and Head of Marketing & Communications to execute the weekly and monthly media agenda
  • Execute Premiership Rugby marketing takeovers in conjunction with the marketing department
  • Assist with proofreading customer facing content produced by non-communications departments, including on and offline campaign copy from the marketing department
  • Compile Warriors statistics including player stats
  • Compile reports as requested
  • Undertake any other duties deemed commensurate with the post and as directed by management and / or the Company
  • There is a requirement for this role to work all Worcester Warriors Women matchdays (home and away – 18 regular matches per season) as well as U18s matchdays (home and away – 6 regular matches per season).

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • At least three years’ experience in rugby journalism or working in a similar role for an elite/premiership level sports team
  • A passion for rugby union
  • Knowledge of the rugby union landscape and a good grasp of the laws of the game
  • Excellent copywriting skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, confident in nature
  • Fully computer literate and numerate
  • A strategic and commercial attitude towards communications
  • Solid understanding of social media platforms, latest strategy and techniques
  • A creative and lateral thinker and energetic team player with a high level of enthusiasm

Hospitality Sales Co-Ordinator

Main purpose of job: The Hospitality Sales Co-Ordinator is responsible for the overall organisation of Match Day Hospitality Delivery.

Location: Sixways Stadium

Position reports to: Head of Commercial

Length of contract: Permanent

Main duties

  • • Be responsible for Reactive Sales from inbound enquiries by telephone, email and website relating to Matchday Hospitality.
    • To update and monitor the inbound enquiry log and meet an agreed conversion target as set out by your Line Manager.
    • Upselling and Cross Selling wherever possible.
    • Building and maintaining customer relationships with annual ticket holders and gaining repeat business wherever possible.
    • To keep all Matchday figures up to date and update the relevant platforms.
    • Handover prospective leads to the Outbound Sales team to proactively grow and develop new business.
    • Communicate sales figures and availability of Match Day Hospitality tickets to the Sales team and Line Manager.
    • To actively set up the new season on all booking channels such as Talent, CRM and Log Sheets.
    • Be responsible for the set up and creation of all booking forms and packages to hand over to the Sales team.
    • Assist the Sales Team in planning and setting up for events.
    • Produce all correspondence relevant to the booking process to be sent to the customer.
    • Create itineraries, table plans, menu cards and other relevant collateral as required.
    • Ensure a smooth and accurate hand over process of the Hospitality plan to the Front of House team, Chefs, Bars and Facilities and other members of the Commercial Team.
    • Ensure that all payments are taken prior to the Matchday.
    • Process all ticket fulfilment and send to customers with Match information.
    • Responding to customer complaints and enquiries and escalating issues to Line Manager wherever necessary.
    • Be available on a Match Day as a first point of contact to the Hospitality and Commercial team for and queries relating to the Match Day.
    • Liaise with any organisers such as Charities / Former Players (pre 1996) occupying a private Suite.
    • Be present at Running Order and debrief meetings.
    • To work closely with the Executive Assistant who will be the host in the XV Club.
    • To assist the Directors with their hospitality requirements.
    • To undertake any other duties deemed commensurate with the post and as directed by your Line Manager, Managing Director, Chairman and / or the Company.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop new skills working in a prestigious event location. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, passionate about people, have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate excellent customer service.

Main duties include:
• Operating tills, including cashing up and completing paperwork at the start and end of each shift
• Leading the team by example
• Giving clear direction and guidelines to team members
• Ensuring the appearance of team members is according to company policy
• Being able to communicate effectively with guests at all levels of the venue
• Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
