Job Title: Developing Player Programme (DPP) Coaches (Volunteer roles)
Centres – Birmingham and Herefordshire
Responsible to: Academy Coach Development Officer and DPP Manager
Outline of Role
  • Deliver high quality sessions within your nearest centre (Sessions will be in the evenings)
  • Provide player feedback within the session to support their development
  • Create a challenging and fun environment for players to develop in.
  • Build good relationships with other coaches within the centre to aid co-coaching
  • Continual personal development. (All coaches working in the DPP would be expected to commit to the coach development programme).
Person Specification – Developing Player Programme Coach
Skills and Education
  • Will have achieved level 2 and be looking to working towards UKCC Level 3 Qualification, or demonstrate significant experience in coaching talented young players.
  • Must be registered under the RFU Coach License Scheme.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Demonstrate significant commitment to their personal and professional development both cross-­‐sport and sport specific. (Evidence of this commitment is highly desirable)
  • Has an understanding of Player Centred Coaching and can adapt coaching style to meet the learning style of the participant.
  • Has the ability to communicate effectively with the players, parents and coaches to assist them with self-­‐reflection and setting of appropriate personal development goals.

Finance Manager

Hours of Work: 37.5 per week plus match day working as required

Job purpose:

  • The role of the Finance Manager is to manage the Assistant Accountants and daily accounting function whilst providing support the Finance Director with all aspects of finance.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Providing stand-in cover for the Finance Director and reporting to the owners of the business
  • Overseeing the tasks and responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant
  • Conducting monthly one-to-ones and regular appraisals with the Finance Team and supporting their development
  • Management of daily cash flows; monitoring, forecasting and highlighting any issues
  • Managing the cashing up process and reporting on all food and bar outlets
  • Ensuring that risks are identified in relation to the cash management process and taking appropriate action to mitigate the risk
  • Posting cash out flows to accounts on a daily basis
  • Overseeing the cash collection activity and reporting; assisting as required to resolve disputes
  • Managing the expenses processing and policy compliance
  • Managing the monthly management reporting activity to meet the specified deadlines
  • Working with Budget Holders across the business to facilitate effective decision making
  • Ensuring that the fixed asset register is maintained and depreciated in line with accounting policy
  • Ensuring that the monthly control file is completed in line with specified deadlines
  • Facilitate the yearly budget and quarterly forecasting process, including reporting and commentary
  • Providing support for the year-end audit
  • Management of FocalPoint administration for PO approval
  • Administration of Dimensions, including access and annual licence updates.
  • Compile and submit the quarterly VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines

Qualification and education requirements

Matchday Doctor

Warriors have a vacancy for a matchday doctor to join them for the upcoming 2019/2020 Gallagher Premiership season.

The chosen candidate working with the Men’s elite first team squad covering a combination of home and away match days.

Primarily the role will be to cover matchday duties which may be on a Friday evening / Saturday / Sunday depending on the fixture schedule. The successful candidate will be part of a team of doctors, but may be the sole doctor on duty at times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attendance on match days as per agreed with Club Doctor and Head of Medical
  • To work as part of Warriors medical team to provide competent and confident match day medical support
  • Liaise with Head of Medical services, physiotherapists and Lead Club Doctor.
  • To provide immediate on-pitch care and support to injured athletes, post-match assessments as required and onwards referral if appropriate
  • Maintain appropriate medical records in accordance with both local and national guidelines, compliant with the RFU standards

The successful applicant will have:

  • GMC registration and appropriate professional indemnity insurance
  • RFU ICIS Level 3 qualification or willingness to undertake
  • Postgraduate education in other relevant fields may be advantageous (SEM)
  • Current DBS Certificate and professional indemnity insurance
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, computer literacy including MS Office and databases
  • Previous experience of working in sport essential
  • Previous experience working in rugby desirable

Cleaner

What’s involved?

  • To ensure that the stadium and conference centre is cleaned and presented to a high standard at all times, with particular focus after or prior to major events.

This may include:

  •  Cleaning of all conference rooms, toilets, offices, reception areas and external areas of the stadium to a high standard
  • Any other duties as required by the Cleaning Supervisor or Facilities Manager
  • Match day duties as directed by the Cleaning Supervisor or Facilities Manager
  • Maintain appropriate levels of supplies and materials at all times
  • To ensure that all breakdowns or equipment failures are reported to the Cleaning Supervisor, and appropriate inspections are carried out
  • To adhere to the company’s Health and Safety policy at all times
  • To ensure that all areas of the premises are left free of any cleaning materials and equipment at the end of the shift
  • To ensure that all equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately after use
  • To dispose of all waste appropriately
  • To assist with the opening and locking up, and subsequent security of all buildings and gates at the stadium
  • Ensure correct PPE is worn when required
  • Wear branded uniform at all times and ensure it is in a clean and presentable state
  • Keep all storage areas clean and tidy at all times
  • Attend and participate in training courses as required
  • Participate enthusiastically in all team meetings
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as required by the Cleaning Supervisor or Facilities Manager in the interests of the team
  • Report any damage or breakages to fixtures and fittings. This includes any failure of major services such as water or electrical supplies
  • Expected to undertake other work commensurate with the nature of the position within the Company at the reasonable request of the Facilities Manager and Head of Stadium Operations

Community Rugby Coach

Job Purpose:

  • To provide coaching and support to meet the strategic needs of The Worcester Warriors in and around the North Midlands and South Warwickshire.
  • To create ongoing sustainability in all areas of work with links into local rugby clubs and The Warriors Academy.
  • The scope of the role will be to focus upon the coaching of all ages in schools and clubs.

This will include:

  • Coaching male and female participants to play all forms of the game
  • To educate teachers and other community deliverers to continue to develop the work started in these age groups.
  • Delivery will be in schools with clubs at the centre of all programmes. There is also work with clubs and match days on the weekends and some evenings throughout the season.
  • Specific Work Programmes will be delivered in your area to support the local clubs and generate interest in the Worcester Warriors. These will be agreed with the Community Rugby Manager.
  • It is envisaged that the post holder will further develop their role as their own skills develop. They are expected to embark on a Continuous Professional Development programme of RFU and Sports Coach UK courses in technical Rugby Knowledge, Coaching Skills and Coach Developer & Tutoring Skills.

Job Description, roles and responsibilities:

  • To deliver high quality coaching sessions to people of all ages to fit in with the needs of rugby clubs and Worcester Warriors.
  • To visit and actively support local clubs (in particular the Club Coaching Coordinator) to help improve standards of coaching and delivery, in order to aid their player retention, development and club sustainability.
  • To prepare an annual work plan in conjunction with your line manager and report activity on a regular basis.
  • To establish, maintain, report and evaluate a comprehensive schedule of coaching and training.
  • To take a professional approach to the planning, preparation and organisation of coaching and training sessions.
  • To ensure the safety and welfare of all participants in coaching and training sessions.
  • To facilitate club /school links.
  • To talent ID and recommend players of ability and potential to the Warriors Academy department.
  • To ensure we have links with coaches/teachers that actively promote the Warriors and encourage their children to take part in Warrior match day events and Warrior camps etc.
  • The delivery of high quality, safe and enjoyable coaching and training sessions.
  • Complying with Worcester Warriors, Premiership Rugby and RFU policies and procedures as appropriate.
  • Maintaining high professional standards and the promotion of these standards in the community.
  • Monitoring of equipment and resources held and distributed through the Community Coaching team.
  • Reporting activity and output on a weekly basis.
  • Creating and maintaining a strong working relationship with the schools, clubs and partners within your area.
  • To actively promote all Warrior revenue generating areas and provide leads for the Community administration team that allow them to sell camps/match days etc.
  • To approach schools in the area and sell them the various programmes we offer.

Qualifications, Education and Key Skills Requirements: 

  • Must be educated to a minimum of ‘GCSE’ standard. Preferably with at least five GCSEs at grade C or above.
  • An RFU coaching qualification (minimum Rugby Union Level 2)
  • A current clean driving license.
  • A current RFU Enhanced DBS disclosure.
  • The successful candidate will have experience of coaching/teaching across a range of age groups and in different locations.
  • Personal circumstances must allow the candidate to work extended hours on occasion during times of peak activity including evenings and weekends.
  • Ideally the successful candidate should already have a good knowledge and understanding of the game. They should be keen to develop a career in the sports/leisure industry and keen to learn and develop their personal skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and volunteers from all parts of the organisation. Also with local partners, teachers, other coaches and club personnel, and be able to present a highly professional image when representing the Worcester Warriors.
  • Must be able to establish positive working relationships with colleagues throughout the community sport and rugby development networks.
  • Must demonstrate a thorough approach to work, and be able to organise him/her and others effectively.
  • Must have the stamina and perseverance and flexibility to cope with unsociable hours including regular weekend working throughout the season.
  • Must be able to identify leads and act upon them to generate income for the Worcester Warriors.
  • Must be able to promote themselves in a manner that allows them to gain entry into schools delivering paid programmes.
  • Should hold a current driving licence and have a car available for work.

Casual Rugby Coach

Salary- £70/day

Job Purpose

  • To provide coaching and support to the camps and match day activity
  • The scope of the role will be to focus upon the coaching of all ages. This will include coaching male and female participants to play all forms of the game

Camp delivery will be in school holidays across the full region the Warriors work in. There is also work available on match days.

Main duties include:
