ASSISTANT BAR MANAGER (OPERATIONS)

Main purpose of job:

  • To plan, organise and liaise with other relevant parties over events and day to day Bar department operations whilst implementing new processes and record keeping and improving current procedures.

Department: Bars Location/Branch: Sixways Stadium

Position reports to: Bar Manager

Position is responsible for: Bar Assistant and casual bar staff

Length of contract: Permanent

Main duties

  • To attend function sheet meetings and plan for events concerning the bars department.
  • To liaise with the staffing coordinator and the finance department for upcoming events, organise staff, floats and plan for any other specific event requirements.
  • Creation and implementation of a cleaning schedule and rota across the entire department, organising its completion and accurate record keeping.
  • Monitoring the maintenance and upkeep of equipment
  • Ensuring all areas are fully equipped, tidy, organised. Including signage, instructional and warning information where applicable, stationery and cleaning equipment.
  • Controlling and reducing wastage levels across all aspects of the department
  • Monitoring the department’s eco cup usage, ensuring accurate records are kept of what is used, sent back to be washed and what is sold.
  • Maintaining sufficient levels of cups around the ground to cover upcoming event requirements and ensuring they are in the required areas.
  • Taking deliveries and organising there distribution around the facility.
  • Creation and implementation of new ideas, innovations and improvements to the department, its’ offerings and processes.
  • Managing events including set up, pre event checks, on the day team management and post event debriefs and clear downs.
  • Creation of training plan content around which to build a programme/structure for all bar casual staff.
  • Researching and conducting investigations into issues raised or ideas proposed by the Bar Manager.
  • Undergo training courses and gain qualifications in a number of fields relating to the department including till training, cellar management courses and gaining an alcohol license.
  • To undertake any other duties deemed commensurate with the post and as directed by management and / or the Company.

GROUNDSPERSON

What’s involved?

To assist in the preparation and maintenance of turf and artificial rugby pitches at Sixways Stadium.

This may include:

  • Assist with the preparation, repair and maintenance of all turf and artificial pitches at Sixways Stadium and surrounding grounds
  • Assist with maintenance and servicing of all machinery and equipment
  • To assist with Health and Safety requirements and documentation, noting that all duties must be carried out to comply with current Health and Safety at Work Legislation
  • Assist with stock control and ordering materials and other supplies
  • Ensure good relations between groundstaff and general public, presenting a friendly and cooperative attitude at all times
  • To undergo training as required to meet the technical needs of the role
  • Willing to undertake weekend and evening work when required by the Head Groundsperson
  • Any other duties as required in relation to the role of Groundsperson

Essential Experience and Skills:

 

  • NVQ/IOG Level 2 Sports Turf or equivalent (or working towards)
  • Clean driving license
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Sports Turf Maintenance
  • Experience of working with agricultural vehicles and machinery
  • Good communication skills
  • Understanding of Health & Safety at Work Principles
  • Reliability and flexibility in working hours
  • Ability to work on own initiative and part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail

Desirable Skills:

  • PA1 & PA6 Spraying certificates
  • First Aid at Work
  • Knowledge of Rugby pitch maintenance
  • Experience of sports pitch marking

This is a full time position and may include weekends.

MARKETING EXECUTIVE – HOSPITALITY & EVENTS

Role Overview:

To assist with marketing activities and campaign delivery across all areas of the business and the venue’s operations, with an emphasis on hospitality, conferencing and events. Working collaboratively with Communications, Sales, Fan Engagement (Ticketing, Retail and Customer Services) and Commercial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Marketing & Communications with preparation and delivery of marketing plans and activity across Sixways Stadium’s events, hospitality and conferencing
  • Build and send email communications to customers
  • Work with the Creative & Brand Executive and external design agency to create event collateral and ensure all creative is within brand guidelines
  • Assist Head of Marketing & Communications with digital marketing and out of home advertising working closely with our buying agencies and media partners, current and prospective
  • Liaise with printers and publishers with any requirements ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Assist the Head of Marketing & Communications with the analysis and reporting for marketing campaigns
  • Occasional assistance on the delivery of rugby and community marketing in peak periods
  • Monitor the industry to keep on top of the latest trends and competitor analysis
  • To undertake any other duties deemed commensurate with the post and as directed by management and / or the Company
  • The person in this role also needs to take their own initiative and interest in keeping up to date with new marketing tactics and keeping their skills up to date with online resources such as free webinars, reading of whitepapers, undertaking free online courses etc

Essential Experience & Skills

  • At least three years’ solid B2B and events marketing experience – hospitality and venue marketing experience is a distinct advantage
  • Trade PR experience is a distinct advantage
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Fully computer literate and numerate
  • A strategic and commercial attitude towards marketing
  • Solid understanding of social media platforms, latest strategy and techniques
  • A creative and lateral thinker and energetic team player with a high level of enthusiasm
  • Good copywriting skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure, with good time management in a pressurised environment
  • A good listener, able to respond to results and consumer research
  • Diplomatic with strong negotiating skills, and the ability to work with initiative and maturity
  • A professional appearance and the social skills necessary to deal with a wide range of clients
  • Willingness to work flexibly when required

Desirable Skills

  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM working knowledge is a distinct advantage
  • Adobe Creative Suite working knowledge is an advantage
  • Marketing based qualifications – HND/Degree Standard

Casual Rugby Coach

Salary- £70/day

Job Purpose

  • To provide coaching and support to the camps and match day activity
  • The scope of the role will be to focus upon the coaching of all ages. This will include coaching male and female participants to play all forms of the game

Camp delivery will be in school holidays across the full region the Warriors work in. There is also work available on match days.

Job Description, roles and responsibilities

  • To deliver high quality coaching sessions to people of all ages
  • To take a professional approach to the planning, preparation and organisation of coaching sessions
  • To ensure the safety and welfare of all participants in coaching sessions
  • The delivery of high quality, safe and enjoyable coaching sessions
  • Complying with Worcester Warriors, Premiership Rugby and RFU policies and procedures as appropriate
  • Maintaining high professional standards and the promotion of these standards in the community
  • Monitoring of equipment and resources held and distributed through the Community Coaching team.

Qualifications, Education and Key Skills Requirements

  • An RFU coaching qualification (minimum Rugby Union Level 2)
  • A current clean driving license.
  • A current RFU Enhanced DBS disclosure, one will be completed through Worcester Warriors if successful.
  • The successful candidate will have experience of coaching/teaching across a range of age groups and in different locations.
  • Ideally the successful candidate should already have a good knowledge and understanding of the game.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and volunteers from all parts of the organisation and be able to present a highly professional image when representing the Worcester Warriors.
  • Must be able to establish positive working relationships with colleagues throughout the community sport and rugby development networks.
  • Must have the flexibility to cope with unsociable hours including weekend work throughout the season.

Bar Supervisors – Matchday and Events

Warriors are seeking experienced casual Bar Supervisors to join our busy Events Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop new skills working in a prestigious event location. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, passionate about people, have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate excellent customer service.

Main duties include:
• Operating tills, including cashing up and completing paperwork at the start and end of each shift
• Leading the team by example
• Giving clear direction and guidelines to team members
• Ensuring the appearance of team members is according to company policy
• Being able to communicate effectively with guests at all levels of the venue
• Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
• Ensuring that the bar is fully stocked at all times and keeping accurate records of stock
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene by keeping the bar area clean, tidy and presentable at all times

Shifts are arranged on an ad-hoc basis. Shifts will be between four and 12 hours long, depending on the business needs.

Current bar work experience is essential with a good level of written and spoken English. Please note this position is for those aged 18 and older.
