Education Officer (Maternity Cover)

The Warriors Community Foundation is currently looking for an Education Officer to support our Education Manager in the delivery of numeracy and literacy programmes in schools. The successful candidate will also lead on the delivery of our Only Girls Allowed initiatives both at Sixways Stadium and out in the local community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for multi-sports, a Level One coaching qualification and/or a Tag Rugby certificate.

Previous experience of facilitating and delivering school and physical education sessions is desirable but training will be given to the right candidate.

This post is to cover maternity leave and we can offer the successful candidate a fixed term contract for one year during term time. Hours of work will be 9.30am to 3.30pm five days per week with weekly evening sessions.

This role is also subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • To oversee and lead delivery of the Only Girls Allowed initiative with women age 18+.
  • To deliver Only Girls Allowed outreach sessions within schools.
  • To support education initiatives delivered by the Warriors Community Foundation.
  • To support the Education Team in the delivery of all education and social inclusion initiatives and lead delivery of coaching where necessary.
  • To support delivery of Warriors Community Foundation’s Disability / BME projects where required.
  • To help on matchdays when required.

Specific Responsibilities

  • To create opportunities for women / girls to access sport through our Only Girls Allowed programme.
  • To support and develop the education and social inclusion initiatives delivered by the Warriors Community Foundation.
  • To lead delivery of education and social inclusion initiatives at a variety of locations.
  • To create new and develop existing initiatives in line with demand.
  • To position delivery to specific needs of schools and educational establishments.
  • To develop and maintain good practice and guidelines that ensure the safe and effective delivery of the education and social inclusion programmes which include child protection and equity policies.
  • To continually develop, monitor and evaluate all programmes of delivery and produce reports where necessary and when required.
  • To promote Worcester Warriors matches and events.
  • To support other members of the Community Foundation team in the delivery of rugby initiatives as and when required.

Matchday Host/Hostess

Worcester Warriors are seeking a Matchday Host/Hostess to join our busy and exciting Matchday Team to enhance our Customer Experience.

As Matchday Host/Hostess you will:
• Provide a warm, vibrant welcome to guests upon arrival and direct them to their seats or hospitality area.
• Have exceptional interpersonal skills and display a friendly and bubbly personality.
• Thrive on exceeding guests’ expectations.
• Continually enhance customer experience by delivering fantastic hospitality.

Matches are normally scheduled on a Friday or Saturday. Working hours for Friday matches are 16:45-21:45 and Saturday matches 12:00-17:00.

Competitive hourly rates are offered. Applicants must be able to work all home team matches – 13th Jan, 27th Jan, 17th Feb, 4th March, plus two home games in April (dates TBC). Previous experience in a similar role is essential.

Waiting Staff – Matchdays and Events

The ideal candidate would be:

As part of the Hospitality Team you will be serving food to customers, keeping the work area clean and tidy, cleaning and polishing cutlery and occasionally setting up and clearing down the venue.

Bar Supervisor – Matchday and Events

Worcester Warriors are seeking experienced casual Bar Supervisors to join our busy Events Team. This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop new skills working in a prestigious event location. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, passionate about people, have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate excellent customer service.

Main duties include:
• Operating the tills, including cashing up and completing paperwork at the start and end of each shift
• Leading the team by example
• Giving clear direction and guidelines to team members
• Ensuring the appearance of team members is according to company policy
• Being able to communicate effectively with guests at all levels of the venue
• Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
• Ensuring that the bar is fully stocked at all times and keeping accurate records of stock
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene by keeping the bar area clean, tidy and presentable at all times

Shifts are arranged on an ad-hoc basis. Shifts will be between four and 12 hours long, depending on the business needs. You will be paid £8.50 per hour plus holiday pay.

Current bar work experience is essential with a good level of written and spoken English. Please note this position is for those aged 18 and older.

  • Prepare and cook food
  • Ensure that the food prep area and the catering outlet is cleaned and sanitised at the end of the shift
  • Undertake stock checks and wastage reports
  • Ensure temperature records are kept
  • Ensure a high standard of service and customer care is delivered at all times
  • Ensure retail catering outlets are kept tidy, organised and fully stocked
  • Deliver a prompt and efficient service
  • Ensure all procedures and policies relating to food safety and health and safety are adhered to including hygiene standards

Candidates must have a minimum of two years’ experience in similar role and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.

Stewards

Worcester Warriors are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to help deliver the event experience at Sixways Stadium.

This is an excellent opportunity to work somewhere with an amazing atmosphere and energetic feel. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, passionate about people, have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate excellent customer service.

You will be working with an experienced team and main duties will include:

  • Welcoming and assisting visitors upon arrival
  • Checking tickets and passes
  • Undertake pre-match and post-match stand checks
  • Dealing with customer queries in a confident and friendly manner
  • Constantly monitoring the spectators in your area
  • Ensure exit and evacuation routes are kept clear at all times
  • Report immediately any damage or defect, suspect package or fire risk which is likely to pose a threat or danger to spectator safety

Minimum level 2 in Spectator Safety is preferred, however full training will be provided.

You must have an excellent level of spoken and written English.
