Mark Hewitt, the former Gloucester Academy Assistant Manager, left his role as Head Coach of CR La Vila in Spain to take up the position of Academy Manager at Warriors.

A former Royal Marine for over 20 years, Hewitt has an impressive rugby background with a proven track record in RFU Championship, Premiership and European environments.

Hewitt, who played for Plymouth Albion, Devon and the Combined Services, worked as coach at the South West of England Rugby Academy (SWERA) based at Ivybridge Community College between 2002 and 2004.

He was Gloucester Rugby Academy Assistant Manager between 2004 and 2006. During that period he coached Gloucester to the Middlesex Sevens title in 2005 and runners-up spot in 2004.

Hewitt also enjoyed success at Cornish Pirates over a three-year period as Assistant Coach and then Head Coach. He helped Pirates win the EDF Energy Cup in 2007.

Hewitt, who has also coached the Samurai Invitational Sevens side in a number of competitions around the world, spent three years working in Spain with CR La Vila and guided them to the League de Honour title in 2010/11 and Super Cup in 2011.

In the summer of 2017, Hewitt was named as Team Manager.
