Murray McCallum

Murray McCallum arrived at Sixways in late December 2021 from Glasgow Warriors.

He made his debut 24 hours later in the Premiership Rugby Cup victory over Gloucester Rugby at Sixways and his Gallagher Premiership debut at Sale Sharks in February 22.

Although McCallum was signed primarily as a tighthead prop, he made his first three Premiership appearances on the opposite side of the scrum.

A product of Edinburgh's Academy system, McCallum won three Scotland caps while with the Murrayfield-based side.

He also played club rugby for Heriot's and, on one occasion, played for both the club and Edinburgh on the same afternoon.

Having started a match for Heriot's and scored an early try, McCallum was told that he was required by Edinburgh as a replacement for a European Challenge Cup match against Harlequins at Murrayfield after Rory Sutherland was injured in the warm-up.

McCallum made the dash across Edinburgh, took his place on the bench and got seven minutes of game time.

McCallum joined Glasgow on a short-term contract in July 2021 and played in a pre-season friendly against Warriors at Sixways two months later.
