Warriors bidding for fitness

Worcester Warriors are waiting for fitness news on a number of players ahead of Friday’s Guinness Premiership battle against Gloucester at Sixways.

Director of Rugby John Brain rates Craig Gillies and his second-row team-mate Phil Murphy as “doubtful” for the televised match. Both are nursing knee injuries.
Centre Simon Whatling, who featured in Warriors’ EDF Energy Cup matches against Northampton and Leicester, is being treated for a shoulder injury.
Brain is also monitoring the progress of fly-half Shane Drahm, who missed both cup matches with a tight hamstring, and winger Aisea Havili, who is nearing fitness after sustaining a foot injury in the match against Bath.
“At this stage, it looks as if Shane will be fit,” Brain said. “The same applies to Aisea. We’re just waiting on a report on Marcel Garvey, who’s not been well. We’re hopeful that he can come into the equation.”
