Sixways Christmas treat for all the family

Worcester Warriors are offering a Christmas treat for loyal supporters who prefer to mix their rugby with Christmas shopping.

Saturday’s European Challenge Cup match against Albi, at Sixways, will be the highlight of an afternoon of festive fun that includes a Christmas Fayre.
Up to a dozen stalls will be set up around the ground to give fans the opportunity to watch the action and hunt down those extra special Christmas presents that will make it a day for the whole family to cherish.
The fayre will open at mid-day and run for six hours, meaning that match-goers will be able to shop before and after the match, which kicks off at 3pm. The club’s regular shopping haunts – the Sixways Stores – will be open as usual, along with the normal food and drink outlets in the club bars.
The party keeps pace with some festive half-time rugby ball ‘golf’, which will see each of four Warriors Academy players representing an individual stand in a kicking competition around the pitch perimeter. The player with the lowest ’round’ will win the junior spectators in their stand a small token gift from the club.
To make it an even more family-friendly day – as with last Saturday’s hugely successful Stars and Starlets event at the Newport Gwent Dragons match – junior tickets will cost only £5.50, with adult tickets at half price. As usual, the match is included in debenture and season ticket packages
“At this time of the year, it’s extremely important for the family to be together,” says Chris Townend, Warriors’ marketing and media executive. “That’s why we’ve organised something that will allow the whole family to come together at Sixways for a great Christmas day out.”
