Chris Fortey signs new two-year deal with Warriors

Chris Fortey has today signed a new contract with Worcester Warriors that will see him remain at Sixways until the summer of 2009.

The 31-year-old front row ace joined up with Worcester Warriors in the summer of 2004 from Gloucester and made his debut ironically against the Cherry & Whites in the first match of the 2005/06 season.

Hooker Chris joined up with his twin brother Lee, who was already a key member of Warriors squad, and they made history in the league when they became the first twins to run out together for the same side in the Premiership.

Fortey has been an integral part of Worcester’s front row this season making 13 starts for the club.

John Brain, Worcester Warriors Director of Rugby, said: “Chris has performed at a consistently high level for us this season. I’m very pleased that he has chosen to remain a Worcester player.”

Fortey, who has won England ‘A’ honours and represented the Barbarians in the past, is now looking to the future and said: “Worcester are a great club and I’m delighted to sign a new deal at Sixways and help the club move forward.”
