Sixways starlets commit to Academy

Worcester Warriors are delighted to announce that five of the club’s most highly-rated youngsters have signed with the Academy for next season.

Winger Miles Benjamin and centre Alex Grove have both resigned for next year while centre Greg King, fly half Joe Carlisle and scrum half Johnny Arr have also agreed new deals for next season.
The five players were all in action earlier this week as the Academy U19s underlined the rich potential at the club by defeating Leicester Tigers U19s at Sixways.
And Academy Manager Andrew Stanley admitted he was delighted that the club had secured the future of the up and coming players – just a week after highly-rated flanker Matt Cox also signed a contract extension.
“We are very pleased that five young rising stars of the Academy have committed their future to Sixways and agreed deals for next season,” said Stan.
“All five have made big strides for the Academy and A team this year and I know fans who have watched them in action will share my enthusiasm that will continue their development with Warriors.
“Miles, Greg, Alex and Johnny have all deservedly earned representative call-ups this season and Joe has already caught the eye of the first team coaching staff.”
Miles Benjamin, 18, has made a stunning return to action this season after breaking his ankle playing for Warriors against Leicester in the pre-season Middlesex Sevens at Twickenham. The pacey winger was again on the score sheet against Tigers in midweek and is currently part of the England U19 set-up.
Centre Alex Grove, 19, has featured for Scotland Under-20s in the U21 Six Nations this season and fellow centre Greg King, 18, has also been named in the most recent England U19 squad as the countdown to the showpiece IRB U19 World Championships, being held in Northern Ireland this April.
Joe Carlisle, 19, is a student at Hartpury College and has been training at Sixways for the past year and a half, while Johnny Arr, 17, is a former RGS student and is currently part of the England U19 set-up.
