Rasmussen signs new three-year Warriors deal

Worcester Warriors have received a massive boost ahead of the trip to Sale Sharks with the news that centre Dale Rasmussen has agreed a three-year deal, which will keep him at Sixways until 2010.

Rasmussen joined Warriors from Exeter Chiefs in the summer of 2004 and made his debut in the club’s first-ever Premiership match against Newcastle Falcons. The 29-year-old Samoa international cemented his place in the side straight away and was a consistent player throughout the 2005/06 season, playing 23 league and cup games throughout the campaign. His performances and commitment was recognised by the Warriors coaching staff when they selected him as the Player of the Year, which he picked up at the club’s prestigious end of season awards celebration.

Rasmussen has continued to be a crucial part of the Warriors starting line-up this season with 15 Guinness Premiership starts and four cup appearances.


Worcester Warriors Director of Rugby, John Brain, said: “Dale has established himself as a key player in our team over the last three seasons. He is a consistent performer who is hugely respected by both his opponents and peers. I’m delighted that he has chosen to make his major commitment to Worcester.”


Speaking about his new deal, a delighted Rasmussen said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Sixways and I’m pleased to show my commitment to Warriors by pledging my future for another three years. I’m excited by the challenges ahead and the ambitious plans of this club. My family are also very settled in the area and I know they share my enthusiasm about the future.”
