Drahm dreaming of double celebration

Shane Drahm has joked he has been having sleepless nights ahead of Warriors trip to Irish – but because of a new arrival in his household and not the Guinness Premiership clash!

Warriors star Drahm will line up at full back at the Madejski Stadium against London Irish on Sunday (kick off 3pm) as Worcester look to take another giant step forward in the fight for top-flight survival.
Worcester fans will be hoping they can pop the champagne corks at the final whistle with a victory in Reading and a fourth league win on the road this campaign.
But Drahm has revealed he already has reason to celebrate after the arrival of a new baby daughter.
“We had a little baby girl called Millie last week, we have had a few sleepless nights since but it’s great,” said Drahm. “If it does all come together for us this weekend I will have two reasons to celebrate.
“To achieve safety would be very special, almost be as fulfilling to being in the Premiership final.
“But we are not even thinking about celebrating or making plans, all we will be doing is concentrating on winning this weekend.”
Drahm insists Warriors will bounce back from a narrow defeat at Bristol in the Sunday showdown.
But he admits the team will need to show their defensive steel against a dangerous Irish line-up.
“Irish are a good side, probably one of the better attacking sides in the Premiership, so our defence will have to be good,” he added.
“We are treating it as a must-win game because there are two ways it can go for us this weekend and we don’t want to go into the final weekend relying on other teams to get us off the bottom.
“We have been fighting our way back and all of a sudden we are off the bottom, it has been a hard battle but we have done that and now we want to get that last win and guarantee safety.
“I will want to know what is happening between Wasps and Northampton in the early game before us, I will probably watch the first half because I don’t tend to get nervous before games. But the focus is on Irish and what we have to do to win it.”
