Summer of Touch a red-hot success

Over 350 people turned up as our annual summer touch rugby competition got off to a sizzling start on Thursday evening (May 24).

Warriors are once again hosting a fantastic six-a-side league at Sixways over eight weeks that is open to all age groups.

A host of teams signed up to showcase their skills, socialise, team-build and compete in this non-contact sport for all ages and abilities.

And the first night of action proved a smash hit as the men’s league and mixed league kicked off with teams battling it out in the spring sunshine before enjoying a barbeque and drinks.

“It was a fantastic first night, the number of teams and players we had was just what we had hoped for,” said Mike Panoho, Warriors Community Rugby Coach. “It was the perfect way to kick off eight weeks of action and all players, both young and old, enjoyed themselves in the sun.

“However, it’s not too late to get involved in the Summer of Touch at Sixways and I would urge anybody who wishes to take part to call me or visit the website for more details.”

The Summer of Touch is the perfect chance for you to battle against your rivals in a fun, friendly, and safe environment and stand out as champions, with the opportunity to perform in the national final at Twickenham Stadium during the Middlesex Sevens on August 18 and win £5,000 worth of Gilbert kit.

The membership and registration fee for a season is £300 per team which means for a minimum of ten players per team.
