Warriors smash season ticket record

Worcester Warriors are delighted to announce record season-ticket sales ahead of the new Guinness Premiership campaign.

The Sixways club has witnessed a huge rush on sales throughout the close season following the appointment of Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock and subsequent signings of a host of world class players.

Renewals and new applications have now crashed through the 5,000 barrier to a club all-time high with more than five weeks still until the first competitive home game – a friendly clash with London Irish on September 1 that is part of the season ticket package.

Warriors can now expect plenty of vocal backing for the start of the new campaign after eclipsing the previous best set last season.

And Chairman Cecil Duckworth has spoken of his delight at the number of fans who have already signed up to become Warriors ahead of what is sure to be another exciting top-flight season.

“We are absolutely thrilled by the record-breaking number of supporters who have been inspired to buy season tickets by the work we have carried out, both on and off the field, as we head towards a new Guinness Premiership season,” he said.

“The volume of season ticket packages sold is massively encouraging to the players and coaching team as we look to build towards a successful future.”

Warriors can confirm that, due to the high demand, it may be necessary to cap season ticket sales at some stage. The club feels it is essential to have a sufficient number of seats available for supporters to purchase on a match-to-match basis, and a cap will ensure that this is the case.

Should it prove necessary to impose a cap, a waiting list will be established for those supporters unable to purchase a season ticket and supporters who join the waiting list will then enjoy priority (after those renewing) for the 2008-09 Guinness Premiership campaign and subsequent seasons.
