The Warriors Study Centre recently held its first ever Graduation event for students who participated in the Summer Term ‘Playing for Success’ project.
Parents turned out in force to see seventy students from nine participating schools receive their awards recognising their achievements during their ten week course of study support.
Headteachers, school staff, local authority education representatives and Warriors players and staff were invited to witness the proceedings.
All students received a certificate of achievement and a Warriors goody bag from players James Collins, Phil Murphy and Drew Hickey in recognition of their efforts in meeting their agreed Premiership Points targets.
Seven students were awarded Young Player of the Season awards for consistently high achievement and a larger number contributed to the success of the Teams of the Season. A high proportion of students achieved 100% attendance and were rewarded for their commitment to improving their learning.

Unfortunately, a number of students from Tenbury Primary School were unable to attend the celebration due to travel difficulties caused by the recent flooding in the town. Other students were disappointed that the event unfortunately clashed with school-based activities at this very busy time in the school calendar.
The evening gave parents the opportunity to experience first hand a number of typical quick-fire fun and challenging literacy and numeracy activities, ably supported by their offspring.
Several ICT presentations by students displayed a range of activities produced during the course, including the production of match posters and tickets, travel graphs, personal ID cards, stadium tour storyboards and player interviews.
Parents were understandably proud of their children’s quality of work and many expressed their gratitude to Centre Manager, Glynn Lodge, his assistant and team of sixth form and community volunteers who supported students throughout their time at the Study Centre.
Certificates of thanks and gifts were presented to the volunteer Study Supporters and schools with excellent attendance records were also identified and received certification.
The next cohort of students will commence their participation in Playing for Success in September.
The study Centre will welcome on board students from new partner schools Gorse Hill Community Primary School, Pitmaston Primary School, St.Barnabas CE Primary School, Bishop Perowne CE College (all Worcester) and Abbey Park Middle School, Pershore. A further Graduation Evening will be held in December.
