Warriors help Macmillan create a big stir

Worcester Warriors staff and stars joined forces with official club sponsor npower to cause a stir as they enjoyed a cuppa at the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

The event is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK, with an estimated 2 million people raising their mugs for Macmillan. This year’s event took place on September 28 with the aim of raising over £7 million for people affected by cancer.

Carol Hart, Community Involvement Manager at npower, said: “It was a great day and everyone really enjoyed themselves. It is amazing that simply enjoying a cup of coffee with friends and colleagues can make a difference to people affected by cancer.”

Every year 270,000 people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK. Macmillan want to support every one of those people and their friends and families too. Two million people took part in last year’s coffee morning, raising more than £2.7m. This year’s total is still being counted. For more information visit www.macmillan.org.uk
