npowering our community programme

This week marks a real landmark for the development of the Warriors Community Programme as we can confirm the significant investment to the community department by our club’s main sponsor npower

The leading energy provider has made a real statement of intent by investing locally into the support of the developing Community Department.

Tom Ryder, Warriors Community Manager, said: “The support from npower will add impetus to new innovative ideas the club has in the way the club operate within the region. The support of npower will allow us to invest time and resource into maintaining our high standards of current work and drive forward new ground breaking initiatives.”

The pressures of working within the public sector mean that the community department have to work hard to raise funds to support the growth of programmes and the staff team. With corporate support such as npower the Warriors community department can deliver on their existing programmes as well as looking strategically how to move the programme forward. By matching the Warriors image and vision with the backing of npower’s investment we can continue to be at the forefront of delivering on a whole range of societal issues.

Carol Hart, Community Involvement Manager at npower, added: “npower is proud to be working in partnership with the Worcester Warriors Community team to provide opportunities for both able and disabled young people, to get involved in rugby at any level. Our vision is to build a sustainable programme upon an already solid platform that gives every child the opportunity to give rugby a try in a safe and fun environment, surrounded by the best coaching staff and facilities in the field of rugby.”
