The Warriors Study Centre moves into its second season after a successful start to its delivery under centre manager Glynn Lodge
The study centre is the Warriors very own onsite learning centre which, in partnership with Worcestershire County Council and Playing for Success, bring students to Sixways to follow a curriculum based on the theme of sport, especially rugby, with the focus on developing literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
Last term all students who attended the study sessions were treated to an evening with the players as part of their learning experience. The students interviewed their local heroes to improve the key skills involved in speaking and listening and also to learn about the life of a professional rugby player. Fourteen Warriors gave their time to support the students. Time was put aside for a photograph and autograph session and students had the opportunity to show off their newly acquired ICT skills.
The following schools will be ‘Playing for Success’ this term:
Gorse Hill Primary School
Warndon Primary School
Witton Middle School
Cranham Primary School
Pitmaston Primary School
Pershore High School
Lickhill Primary School
St.George’s CE Primary School
