Ruddock delight at on target young guns

Mike Ruddock heaped praise on the young guns at Warriors now pushing for first team selection after watching them beat Exeter United.

Director of Rugby Ruddock travelled down to Exeter to watch the development side play at Sandy Park after completing first team training on Monday.

And he revealed the performances of the young stars had given him plenty of food for thought.

?I was delighted to see a really positive and polished performance by the A team at Warriors,? he said.

?They played with great enthusiasm, tempo and the width that we are trying to develop throughout the club.

“The team was rewarded with some really tries after some wonderful movement, it was a fantastic performance and result.”

Skipper Tom Wood grabbed a brace of tries and Miles Benjamin, Matt Cox, James Collins, Nick Runciman also crossed for scores.

And Ruddock revealed a number of displays had caught his eye.

?There were a lot of great performances, it was good to see some of the lads who are on the fringes and pushing for first team rugby really put their hands up,? he added.

?James Collins and Miles Benjamin both scored great tries and Tom Wood led the team very well and grabbed a brace.

?Joe Carlisle also showed up well when he came on and Nick Runicman looked as thought he is getting back to full fitness which is a great boost to us.?
