Horsman faces four month layoff

Warriors have today confirmed that prop Chris Horsman is expected to be ruled out of competitive action for four months after surgery on his left arm.

Horsman suffered an isolated bicep rupture and snapped a tendon during Warriors clash with Leeds Carnegie on Friday, October 12 at Headingley Carnegie – his first Guinness Premiership start of the season.

The Wales international, who had just returned from World Cup duty in France, underwent successful surgery on Wednesday evening and has been informed by medical staff that he faces a four-month rehabilitation programme.

Horsman, who signed for Warriors in July 2004 and has established himself as one of the most powerful props in the English domestic game, is expected to return to action by the end of February.

Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock said: “We’re obviously disappointed for Chris that he has received this significant injury, however we wish him every success with his recovery.

“Knowing Chris as I do he will try his hardest to prove medical science wrong and get back on the field before the projected timescale.”
