Warriors youth claim another big scalp

Worcester Sixth Form College, which contains 20 of the Warriors apprentices, continued their impressive run of form with a convincing 25-17 win over Northampton’s apprenticeship scheme based at Moulton College.

Worcester had several influential players missing and went into the game with several squad members who were receiving their first start of the season.

The Warriors produced a stunning start and in the opening 15 minutes played some of the best rugby they have put together this season.

In this period they were able to keep the ball for several phases and execute the patterns of play that they had worked so hard at on the training ground.

Worcester ran in scores from Sam Basstock (2), Matt Marskell (2) and Charles Parry to the delight of AASE co-ordinator Matt Sherratt.

“It is always pleasing to gain victory over another established apprenticeship scheme,” he said.

“What made this win even more pleasing was the manner and style we played and also the fact that many non-regular first team players contributed so positively towards the game.”

Warriors are recruiting already for next year’s intake. Prospective candidates and parents are asked to con contact Matt Sherratt at matt@wrfc.co.uk
