Morris closing in on contract deal

Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock has revealed that the club is closing in on new deal to retain powerhouse prop Darren Morris.

Morris joined Warriors from Leicester Tigers at the end of the 2006 season and has quickly established himself as part of the front row at Sixways Stadium.

The 32-year-old boasts a wealth of experience having made his Wales debut in June 1998 against Zimbabwe. He toured Australia with the British and Irish Lions in 2001 and so far he has made 43 appearances for the Warriors.

“We are very close to securing Darren again for next season – we are just finalising a few more details in his contract,” said Ruddock.

“I believe there has been interest from other clubs in Darren, very much so as he can play both sides of the scrum. But he has enjoyed it here, that’s what he’s told me and that’s what his agent has told me.”
