Current Form

Worcester and Montpellier go into battle at Sixways on Saturday with the winners entertaining Newcastle or Castres in the semi-final.
Worcester are having a good spell at the moment. They beat Gloucester 17-14 last Saturday and are unbeaten in the Guinness Premiership in their last 4 matches, the first time they have ever achieved this.
They are still only 11th in the league table but relegation is now extremely unlikely and they can concentrate their efforts on the European Challenge Cup. They have played 9 league matches at Sixways this season, winning 3 drawing 2 and losing 4.
Montpellier won 17-12 at Castres last Saturday to complete a league double in what could be an unlikely but possible rehearsal for the Challenge Cup semi-final. They sit in 9th position in the French Top 14 having won 8 from 16 played.
They have played 8 league matches away from home this season, losing 6 and winning at Brive and Castres.

Challenge Cup 2007/2008

Worcester qualified for the quarter-final stage as number 1 seeds and winners of Pool 2 amassing 29 points from a possible 30 with 6 wins from 6.
They have scored 36 tries in the competition so far, the most by any team, and only conceded 49 points, the best defensive record of any team.
Shane Drahm has scored 43 points for Worcester in this season’s tournament and Rico Gear and Pat Sanderson have both scored 5 tries each.
Montpellier qualified as 8th seeds and were runners-up to Sale in Pool 4. They won 4 from 6, losing at Edgeley Park and drawing 14-14 with Sale in their final match.
They have scored the lowest number of tries, just 12, the lowest number of points, 114, and they have conceded the most points, 115, from the 8 teams left in the competition.
The 12250 Montpellier attracted to their last Pool game against Sale was the highest crowd in the tournament this season.
Federico Todeschini has scored 29 points for Montpellier in this season’s competition and David Bortolussi 27.
Bortolussi, Frikkie Welsch and Louis Picamoles have all scored 2 tries.
