Latham backing cup final bid Down Under!

New signing Chris Latham has sent his best wishes to Worcester Warriors ahead of the European Challenge Cup final – and admits he will be cheering on his new team-mates from the other side of the globe!

Australian international ace Latham, who will join Warriors this summer, may be in Australia recovering from shoulder surgery but admits he has still been swept up in cup final fever.

Latham, regarded as the best full back on the planet, has revealed he has been keeping up to date with his new club via the internet as the clock ticks down to his arrival.

And the flying full back, who currently stands as the second highest try scorer in Wallaby history and played in every match at Rugby World Cup 2007, will also be cheering the Warriors on come high noon at Kingsholm on Sunday.

“It’s really fantastic that the Warriors have made the cup final and I will be backing them all the way on Sunday,” said Latham.

“My fingers will be crossed and I’m sure I can find a bar or place in Brisbane where they will be playing it so that I can watch every second of the action and cheer on the boys.

“The excitement is really growing for me ahead of the move to Worcester. I am counting down the days with the family, we’ve sold the house and I’ve been checking out the website every week to read the news, check the latest match reviews and see what the fans are saying.

“The team has really shown some fantastic form over the last six to eight weeks and I’m confident they can finish the job off in the final. I wish them all the best against Bath and look forward to meeting up with them and all the fans really soon.”
