Warriors tee-off for Prince’s Trust

Worcester Warriors have helped raised thousands of pounds for The Prince’s Trust, the UK’s leading youth charity, after once again swinging into action with our city sporting neighbours.

The four-ball from Sixways Stadium, captained by Chairman Cecil Duckworth, took on teams from Worcestershire County Cricket Club and Worcester City FC around 18 holes at Sapey Golf Club on Monday, June 9 in the annual event for the Rabjohns Trophy.

Warriors were edged out by the talented golfing team from St George’s Lane but did manage to grab local bragging honours over the Pears from New Road by a single point. General Manager Charlie Little managed to grab the prize for the longest drive and Director Roger Murray narrowly missed out in the nearest the pin competition.

But the real winner on the day was the Prince’s Trust as £3,000 was raised for the charity that helps young people overcome barriers and get their lives working.

Through practical support including training, mentoring and financial assistance, the Prince’s Trust helps 14-30 year olds realise their potential and transform their lives. In Worcestershire alone, it helps 10 young people every week get a better start in life.
