Abbott called up for Sevens heaven

Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock has made one change to his 12-man squad as Worcester Warriors prepare for the Middlesex Sevens at Twickenham tomorrow (Saturday).

Ruddock has handed a call-up to exciting young back row Jake Abbott, a product of the Academy system at Warriors, and he replaces lock Will Bowley who will now be involved in the clash with Doncaster Knights the following day.

Warriors finished as runners-up last season to Newcastle Falcons and have drawn Bristol Rugby in the first round in this year’s competition (kick-off 12.20pm).

Ruddock has selected a squad with an exciting mix of experience and youth with fly half Matthew Jones set for his debut and the team led by scrum half Matt Powell, who will be playing in his 12th Middlesex Sevens competition.
