Worcester Warriors have revealed that young lock Will Bowley could miss a month of Guinness Premiership action after suffering a broken thumb.
Bowley suffered the injury during the Guinness Premiership game with Leicester Tigers on Saturday and is now set for four weeks on the sidelines.
The 24-year-old is a product of the Warriors Academy who has become an established part of the first team squad under the guidance of Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock.
The second row has represented England at U18, U19 and U21 level, and has started the last two league games for Warriors.
“We’re disappointed to lose Will just after he had broken into the team and put a series of good performances together,” said Ruddock.
“However, he is a young man with a big future and so it is important now that we get him right and healthy again given the length and intensity of the season.
“I’m sure that he will feature very prominently in lots of big games to come for us this season.”
Warriors have suffered a blow with Bowley ruled out by the news regarded full back star Chris Latham is more encouraging.
The Australian was taken to hospital following the Tigers game as a precaution after suffering a neck injury but is now expected to be available for selection for the weekend clash with Bath Rugby.
