Dads and Lads visit Worcester Warriors

A group of ‘Dads and Lads; visited Sixways Stadium yesterday for a tour of the stadium. The group had been invited to the club as a reward for their great effort during last term’s ‘Dads & Lads’ reading project.

The project is aimed at improving the attitude of young boys to reading by providing positive male reading role models, and is run by the team at Worcester Library, with the backing of Warriors.

In July, the lads received certificates from Worcester players Ben Jones and Matthew Jones and yesterday they visited the Warriors changing rooms before walking out of the tunnel.

The group also learnt about the media facilities at Warriors, indoor training centre and the Project Sixways development. The dads and lads then completed a Warriors quiz in the International Suite.

Dave Rogers, Warriors Education Programme Co-ordinator, said: “Everyone had worked really hard during the Dads and Lads sessions, so it was great to reward them with a look around Sixways Stadium.

“Warriors are fully supportive of any initiative aimed at improving attitudes to reading, and we are looking forward to working with the library again in the future.”
