Academy boss pleased at youthful show

Warriors Academy boss Andrew Stanley praised his young guns for showing the rich potential at the club after they ran up a 43-12 victory over the Army Under-23s at Sixways Stadium on Monday evening.

The next generation of potential stars ran in six tries with skipper Jake Abbott, Mike Penn, Greg of players from the Elite Player Development Groups shining.

“It was a great opportunity to get the boys playing as an Academy,” said Stan.

“Hopefully we gave the crowd plenty to enjoy in the first half and cheer about. The second half was disjointed after a number of changes but it gave us the opportunity to blood a few of our young players from the EPDG programme.

“Players like Andy Short, Earl Collins and James Whybrow all got action and it was great that we were able to do that as they all showed great potential, especially Earl with the try he scored.”
