Bristol set to be a massive battle

Worcester Warriors’ last home game of 2008 is set to be a great battle between us and local rivals Bristol Rugby on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Tickets are selling like hot mince pies for this fixture and there is no need to tell Mike Ruddock – Director of Rugby just how important the weekend fixture is.

“Saturday is a massive game and particularly for Bristol. They want to come here and beat us and get their revenge for the two wins we had against them last season – But also to make sure they don’t lose touch with the rest of the team. If we beat them which we hope to do on Saturday then that’s another win for us and more pressure on them.”

It seems the Warriors camp are not underestimating their opponents and only know too well what a tough side Bristol Rugby can be. Mike assures us they are prepared.

“It’s a massive game they will be fired up. We watched them against Northampton on Sunday. I have briefed players accordingly and we have done a hell of a lot of homework for this fixture and the boys are very aware of what’s at stake for us and for Bristol.”

Warriors fans are urged by Mike Ruddock and the rest of the Warriors squad to really get behind the team on Saturday and spur them on to what hopefully will be a victory. A nice early Christmas present for all of us!
