Chawson learn with the Warriors

Children from Chawson 1st School in Droitwich have become the first to complete the ‘Learning With The Warriors Programme’ supported by Link Telecom.

Children from classes 4W, 4K and 4G have spent one afternoon a week completing a series of cross curricular activities based around Warriors and rugby, before going outside to learn some rugby skills.

Jodie, aged nine, said that her favourite part of the five weeks was “designing a kit for the Warriors, because I love design and technology”, whilst Max, aged eight, enjoyed the Geography session. “I enjoyed learning about different clubs in Europe, some of which I’d never even heard of,” he said. Tom aged nine, enjoyed the whole project but said “The best bit was definitely getting to go outside and play rugby!”

Headteacher, and Warriors fan, Gerry Hughes was pleased that his school was the first to take part in the programme. “It was great to see our local Guinness Premiership club out in one of their local schools,” he said. “We thought it was a brilliant opportunity for our pupils to learn more about their world and enjoy doing it. We might have a few more Warriors fans as well and maybe even a future Warriors star!”
