Worcester Warriors have announced the kick-off time for England’s opening game in the RBS U20 Six Nations against Italy at Sixways Stadium tomorrow night (Friday) has been moved forward due to weather conditions across the region.
The international at the home of the Warriors has now been moved forward by an hour and a half and will now kick-off at 6.30pm due to weather conditions expected later in the evening.
Gates at the stadium will open at 5.30pm as England, who include Graham Kitchener in the starting line-up, look to make a winning start in the bid to defend their Six Nations crown.
“We have been monitoring a number of independent websites over the weather forecast and have been in regular contact with the players from both countries and the RFU,” said Charlie Little, General Manager at Worcester Warriors.
“The weather is changing by the minute but the decision has been made, in consultation with the police, that the game will go ahead as planned.
“A little bit more snow is expected, however, that is currently acting as insulation to the pitch and although temperatures are set to drop below zero this evening hopefully the snow will continue to help the pitch.
“We are working around the clock to get the game on and because of the weather forecast, and the expected drop in temperature, we have taken the decision to move the game forward to give us the best chance of stopping the pitch from freezing.”

Supporters who have dining packages for the game are advised that food will be served after the game.
Debenture holders and Season Ticket holders are advised that the Pitch View bar will be available for them to use for this game, located on the second floor of the new corner block in the Slick Systems Stand. Those that wish to use this bar should bring their Debenture or Season Ticket card with them to show at the Box Office to obtain a pass.
