Snapper successful on big Beacon run

Official club photographer Ian Smith took part in the Worcestershire Beacon Race last Saturday in aid of Cancer Research and successfully completed the seven-mile course in a personal best time of 1 hour 24 minutes and one second.

Despite finding the run tough and failing to break his target time, Ian was delighted when he reached The Beacon 15 minutes quicker than he had achieved before.

“I am afraid i allowed myself to get caught up in the rush at the start of the race, the descent to the finish couldn’t come soon enough and I made it back, beating my previous best time by 30 seconds” said Ian.

“Many thanks to all the people out on The Beacon for the support they gave to all the runners, it was much appreciated – and many thanks to the person who called out my name at St Annes Well – I heard you but didn’t recognise the voice!”
