Two changes for soaring Falcons

Newcastle Falcons have made two changes to their side for Sunday’s Guinness Premiership visit of Worcester Warriors to Kingston Park (kick-off 3pm).

Fit-again fullback Alex Tait returns to the side after two weeks out with an ankle injury, with a back line reshuffle seeing two-try hero Charlie Amesbury moved to the left wing.

The only other change to the side comes at No.8, where Samoan international Filipo Levi returns after the bout of gastroenteritis which ruled him out of last Saturday’s 26-17 win at Bath.

Assessing the threat from a Worcester side one point below Newcastle in the Guinness Premiership standings, Falcons director of rugby Steve Bates said: “They have lots of very good players, and they will be targeting every game in the same way that we do.

“It will be a real contest, we’re probably good enough to win it but we know we’ll have to play really well. They have a dangerous back line with some class individuals, I felt they were a bit unlucky last week against Harlequins and they’re going to be pumped up for this one.”

Tickets for Sunday’s game are available by calling 0871 226 60 60, or from the stadium on match day.
