Coach Education Sessions big success

Last Monday saw the final night of a four-part series of coach education sessions delivered to over 200 different coaches and teachers from throughout the Midlands here at Sixways Stadium

Sessions to date have been delivered by 1st Team Skills & Defensive Coach Billy McGinty on ‘Tackle Technique’, Academy Manager Andrew Stanley on ‘The Breakdown’, 1st team Attack Coach Matt Powell on ‘How to Break Down a Defence’, and culminated last Monday with AASE co-ordinator Matt Sherratt and Academy Strength & Conditioning Coach Lee Douglas delivering a fantastic two-hour session on ‘Integrated Games for Skills Tactics and Conditioning’.

“As a club we try to do all we can to support rugby and rugby coaches throughout the Midlands,” said Community Officer Simon Lane.

“We used the excellent top level resources we have here at the club to pass on their knowledge to coaches from local clubs and school who we work closely with free of charge.

“I would like to take this opportunity to pass on our thanks to all of the coaches from Warriors involved, who were happy to give up their time to deliver sessions.

“We received some fantastic feedback on all of the sessions and will be looking to run a similar programme sometime in the future.”
