Ruddock – Best will lead from front

Worcester Warriors boss Mike Ruddock has described new signing Neil Best as the ideal fit for the club and believes the dynamic back row will bring more leadership skills to Sixways.

Ireland international Best, who has moved to Warriors on a two-year deal, previously made over 100 appearances for Ulster before moving to Northampton Saints.

The tough-tackling 30-year-old flanker has also impressed on the international stage, with 18 senior caps for Ireland and he has captained Ireland A in the Churchill Cup.

“Neil is a highly respected figure in British and Irish rugby and brings with him a wealth of experience at international level and no nonsense approach combined with intelligence and skill.

“Neil is just the sort of player we need in our squad and I know he will add leadership to our team and will always lead from the front.”
