Boss Mike Ruddock has ordered his Worcester Warriors to focus on the job and not be distracted by the surroundings when they play at Wembley Stadium against Saracens on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
Worcester make a first ever trip to the famous stadium for the Guinness Premiership clash and will be backed by a big travelling support of fans.
But Director of Rugby is determined his troops will purely concentrate on the task in hand and upsetting the high flying London outfit.
“I have made the point to the players that as far as I’m concerned it is a rugby field with posts, our focus is on beating Saracens and beating them on that field,” said Ruddock.
“We have to put all the talk of Wembley to one side and we can reflect on that as and when we get a victory.
“It’s a big week ahead but we are comfortable where we are. The boys have trained well all week and we have put our plans into place to go into this block of Guinness Premiership rugby.
“We saw some improvements on Saturday against London Irish, but we will need to improve again to beat Saracens.
“They are a difficult team to face, they are top of the league and they qualified for the knock out stages of the LV=Cup so it shows they are getting it right more often than they get it wrong.
“They play a game where they are big into the territory battle and winning the breakdown too. Discipline is going to be important, if we start to lose that and give away easy points they will be very tough to play catch up rugby against. Part of our game plan is to be very disciplined.
“We expect a very pumped up Saracens team, coming out all guns blazing and looking to make a statement on the back of losing last week to the Dragons.”
Ruddock has revealed that Sam Tuitupou will be fit for selection and England Saxons duo Miles Benjamin and Tom Wood will also push for recalls to the starting line-up.
“Greg King did very well against London Irish but, if I am honest, I will go for Sam’s experience on this occasion providing he pulls up well in training,” added Ruddock.
“At the moment it is all systems go, Tom Wood has returned from Saxons in good nick and has trained very well, Miles Benjamin has done the same.”
