Rawlinson fired up for big Tigers test

Giant lock Greg Rawlinson has urged the Sixways faithful to once again get behind the Worcester Warriors and turn up the volume against Leicester Tigers in the Guinness Premiership on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Warriors return to top-flight action after almost three weeks away from fight for Guinness Premiership points.

And Rawlinson, who recently committed his future to the club with a one-year deal, knows the game is of huge magnitude as Warriors battle for league points.

“There is still work left to do this season and Leicester Tigers are a really good team, so we’ve not been able to switch off in these weeks without a game,” he said.

“We have got to keep training hard and doing plenty of contact, so by the time we play them we haven’t switched off physically.

“Playing at home always makes a difference and with the way the last couple of games has gone we really need that extra burst from the fans who I know will get right behind us again.

“The guys will be fired up and ready to go – we need to make it happen on the day.

“Just need to convert the narrow losses into victories – it has been frustrating, but we must keep on going.”
