Latham high praise for Sixways faithful

Full back star Chris Latham has hailed the Sixways faithful for giving their ‘heart and soul’ to the club this season – and urged them to once again crank up the noise levels against Wasps on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Australian ace Latham is set for his penultimate game on home soil as Warriors entertain London Wasps in a crucial Guinness Premiership encounter.

Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock has highlighted the outcome of the game as critical to the club in the league run-in with only games at Leeds Carnegie and at home to Gloucester Rugby to follow.

And ahead of the clash, all-action back Latham has praised the Worcester support for their loyal backing throughout the campaign.

“The fans here have been fantastic to me and the team – that will be something I take away with me at the end of the season,” said Latham, who speaks to The Warrior matchday programme this weekend.

“They give their heart and soul to the club. They turn up week in and week out, regardless of how far you have got to travel to play.

“I have been in teams before when you see your supporter base drop off when things don’t go as you plan.

“But here the supporters stick with you through everything. We must know how lucky we are to have the fans we have here.

“It’s a huge game for us, you can talk about next week and all that stuff, but we need to focus on this game and nothing else,” he added.
