Belfast boy Ryan McDonnell is no stranger to laughs in his home town and is currently building up quite a reputation for himself on the UK comedy circuit. He interjects a sharp wit and Irish charm in his observation of everyday life. Sometimes bizarre, often dark he’ll guide you on a unique journey through the world as he sees it. Ryan was a runner up in the 2009 Amused Moose Laugh Off final in Edinburgh and a 2008 Magners Comedy Awards finalist.

Like most graduates, I ended up in a call centre for three and a half long long years. I was trying to sell employment law manuals to people who all must have had faulty phones or something as I kept on getting cut off. I’ve tried to find something funny about it to talk about but I just can’t! I still don’t really understand what the hell happened here but now I’m a stand-up comedian, comedy writer and…Actor??? – Well that one’s debatable! 🙂

A misspent youth and a series of grim jobs, including one as an undertaker, cultivated his “dry as a bone” but rib-achingly funny outlook on life. Mike has worked with some of the biggest names like Jo Brand and Alan Davies, as well reaching cult status in almost every land known to man. Television appearances include Al Murray’s sit-com Time Gentlemen Please and Harry Hill’s TV Burp He has also been a regular contributor for The Guardian. He has written for The 11 O’clock Show and even Match of The Day.
