Goode news for next season plans

Worcester Warriors have been handed a boost after new signing Andy Goode vowed to make his summer switch to Sixways Stadium.

The fly half star has confirmed to Chairman Cecil Duckworth he will join the club for the 2010/11 campaign.

However, Warriors have revealed that New Zealand duo Sam Tuitupou and Rico Gear are now both likely to leave at the end of this season.

“In terms of the playing squad, all of the players that are coming to the club are still coming and we have no reason to doubt that,” said General Manager Charlie Little.

“The Chairman spoke to Andy Goode over the weekend and he is coming and gearing up to the challenge in the Championship.

“A number of guys will move on and do so with our best wishes, the rest of the squad will remain and we will have a stronger squad than we had this season.

“Sammy Tuitupou had a contract offer from us that was beneficial on both sides and we said if we went down we could chat about it,” added Little.

“I think, subject to him passing a medical with another club, we now wouldn’t expect him to be with us next year.

“Again, with Rico, I would envisage him not being at Sixways next year. But we have enjoyed having him at the club and he has helped bring on the likes of Chris Pennell, Marcel Garvey, Miles Benjamin, Alex Grove to some extent, Earl Collins and Mike Penn.”
