Arscott excited by Sixways ambition

New signing Tom Arscott has revealed the ambition being shown at Worcester Warriors was crucial to him signing and becoming the 11th new face at Sixways this summer.

Flying back Arscott, who can play at full back or wing, is keen to make a big impression at his new club as he again teams up with Head Coach Richard Hill.

And the 22-year-old is confident all the ingredients are in place for a successful future at the Warriors.

“I’m really excited about the move,” said the Plymouth-born ace. “I’m an ambitious player and it’s great to see the squad being assembled at Warriors and the club’s plans for the future.

“The mentality of the club is all about ambition and I’m sure we can replicate the likes of Northampton Saints who got promoted back up and have gone from strength to strength.

“The players, set-up and fanbase are all at Sixways and now it is about us playing to our potential.

“I’ve obviously got a great deal of respect for Richard,” he added. “I was really keen to get the chance to work with him again.

“He was a great coach when we worked together at Bristol and I’m sure he will bring that same success to Worcester.

“He got us promoted to the Premiership and playing some really good and entertaining rugby with limited resources. With the players at Warriors there is no reason why we can’t do that again.

“It’s an awesome squad that I am joining and I already know a few of the guys like Rob Higgitt and Alex Crockett from last season.

“The team has stayed together after relegation and there have been some top signings to add to that. The Warriors are very ambitious and I look forward to helping them move forward.”
