Hill pleased by pre-season enthusiasm

Head Coach Richard Hill has praised the enthusiasm of his Warriors during the opening weeks of pre-season – insisting the Sixways squad is showing no signs of a hangover from relegation.

The Warriors have been back in training now for just over a week and Hill has been delighted by the attitude from those who have reported back in and the training programme devised by the backroom staff.

“I’ve been very impressed by the strength and conditioning staff – the programme that has been organised is very good indeed,” he said.

“I have been delighted by the staff and the work that has been put together, it really is one of the best programmes I have ever seen.

“The players have come in and I was expecting a few to carry a hangover from last season, but I haven’t seen any of that. They are massively enthusiastic.

“We did one session last week of conditioned games with some really gruesome intermittent training. They gave it absolutely everything and speaking to the conditioners we have had some the best results they have ever had.

“It’s a new start and the players are fully committed to really doing everything they can. They are in good shape for June and we have so far made a good start and shown a fantastic attitude.”
