Let’s Get Cooking with the Warriors!

The Warriors Study Centre launched a tasty new after-school outreach programme at Cranham Primary School last month.

Ten Y5 and Y6 students enjoyed the delights of making a mouth-watering range of fruit smoothies and fruit kebabs during the opening session of the 'Let's Get Cooking' pilot programme.

The students will learn a range of cookery skills over the next five weeks under the expert guidance of Sixways Events chef, Richard Veale, supported by Centre teaching assistant, Laura Bolon.

Students will be taught basic skills such as knife, measuring, weighing and sieving skills whilst enjoying the tastes and flavours of fruit scones, muffins, vegetable stir fry and chilli con carne.

Students will be encouraged to transfer their learned skills to the home and will be given a range of recipes to try out. Some students will be joined by their parents in future weeks as they strive to become the next Jamie Oliver and teach mum or dad a thing or two!
