Could you be a city sporting hero?

Worcester Cathedral would like to invite you to be part of an exciting new exhibition entitled ‘British Sporting Heroes – Past and Present’. This unique event will be taking place between August 7 and 30 and will feature 55 sports personalities from 10 major sports within the past 100 years.

Worcester Cathedral are looking for people to be the backbone of the event by being part of their voluntary stewarding team.

If you have an interest in sports, sports personalities and sporting memorabilia, and would like to be involved in an iconic event in Worcestershire then they would really appreciate your help.

Stewards will be responsible for welcoming visitors within the exhibition and will possibly get the chance to be up close and personal to a celebrity or two as well as the exhibits which include David Beckham’s boots and shirt and the ‘Hesketh’ driven by James Hunt when he become F1 World Champion. Just short of 140 exhibits are being loaned from six national sports museums and three private collectors.

The event is open between 10am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday and 12.30pm and 5pm on Sundays. Stewarding is arranged in morning and afternoon shifts and Worcester Cathedral would welcome people to sign up for one shift or as many as they can.

If you are interested in volunteering please contact Susan MacLeod on 01905 732903 or email susanmacleod@worcestercathedral.org.uk
